The Basic Welding Certificate program provides an individual with the skills necessary to sit for AWS certification in structural welding, as well as a broad overview of related welding skills and techniques. Through a combination of classroom and laboratory training, students will learn the applications of shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), metal inert gas (MIG), and tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding, as well as the necessary safety, blueprint reading, and electrical theory skills needed for employment in the industrial workforce. Students will be required to pay a materials fee in addition to tuition charges.
