Taking Measure
As we all know by now, environmental issues and problems are not going to go away! As world populations increase, the drain on natural resources and the assault on our ecosystems continues. Today's Environmental Technicians are involved in such areas as groundwater and surface water pollution and protection, air quality, and all forms of hazardous waste, both liquid and solid. They are involved not only in locating and identifying problem areas and potential problem areas, but also in monitoring, prevention, and remediation. A solid background in the sciences and the acquiring of technical skills are absolutely necessary for success in the field. We need to ensure that the quality of life we enjoy now is here for future generations.
