The Woodsville and Littleton Academic Centers offer the courses you need to begin the training and education that will lead you to a career in nursing, medical assistant, medical office management, or other health care positions. Our programs will help you complete the prerequisites and general education requirements for the Registered Nurse Associate Degree. Up to 37% of the credits for the RN associates degree can be completed at the Woodsville and Littleton Centers.

Students who started coursework in Woodsville and Littleton are currently enrolled in health care related programs at WMCC in Berlin, other Community College System of NH schools, as well as Norwich University, Vermont Technical College, and Lebanon College.

Program coordinators Tom Allen and Melanie Collins will assist you with the steps needed to be admitted into RN and other health care career programs. They can also help with need-based financial aid applications, as well provide information about federal tax credits that are available. Our one or two night per week evening classes, and reasonable tuition (Vermont residents pay the same rate!), make the Woodsville and Littleton Academic Centers of WMCC an excellent place to begin your health care career.

Student Perspective on Health Career Courses at the Woodsville and Littleton Academic Centers of WMCC

Peg Ramback from Bethlehem is in the WMCC RN program in Berlin. "After my children completed college it was time for me to pursue my 30 year dream of becoming a registered nurse. The academic center provided me the courses I needed close to home, at a great price, with a great schedule, and great teachers. The advising and guidance provided by the center coordinator was exceptional. I have also met other motivated students who are now close friends. I feel empowered to move forward and to achieve my goal of becoming a registered nurse. The WMCC academic centers are valuable assets for our community."

Christina Tallman of Wentworth is attending the Radiologic Technology program at NHTI-Concord's Community College. "Every one of my teachers at WMCC Woodsville and Littleton were very helpful. As a mom with two children, working full time, the night classes were very convenient. The program coordinators were knowledgeable and informative about all possible career programs. Without the Woodsville and Littleton Centers of WMCC I would never have been able to be accepted into the radiology program."

Keith Howard lives in Littleton and is a student at the WMCC RN program. "Convenience, time, and money were the big plusses for me. All the classes I needed to pursue my education to become an RN were in Littleton and Woodsville, when I needed them. The courses at the academic centers prepared me well for the nursing program in Berlin. You cannot find better instructors than I had for my courses in Littleton/Woodsville WMCC.

Bethany Ketchum of Groton VT will be attending the Vermont Technical College nursing program at Lyndon State College. "I started classes at the WMCC Woodsville Academic Center in the summer of 2008 and a year later I am starting my nursing program. As a mother of four returning to school this seemed like an unreachable dream. As a WMCC academic center student I was able to work at my own pace around my own schedule. The courses I needed were offered, class sizes were small, and I received an unbelievable amount of support from staff and professors. My experience has been only positive and I would recommend the WMCC academic centers to anyone interested in a health care career.

Tara Kaplan, a resident of Bethlehem is a second year student at the WMCC RN program. "It was intimidating to make that initial call to sign up for classes. I was pleasantly surprise at how genuinely helpful and supportive the center coordinator was. He really understood what a big step this was and patiently supported me in getting started on my courses. I have been impressed by the high level of professionalism and expertise I have experienced in all of my courses at both academic centers. My first instructor got my learning off to a fantastic start, and gave me the knowledge and confidence I needed to continue on to the nursing courses."
