children reading The White Mountains Community College Child Care Center opened its doors in the fall of 1987, and provides care to children ages 12 weeks through 11 years old. The licensed center is located at 15 Twitchell Lane across the street from the main campus. The Center serves as a training lab for Early Childhood Education students. The Child Care Center is eligible to offer reduced tuition on a sliding fee scale through NH’s Child Development Bureau to parents who meet income guidelines.

The center offers high quality childcare in a mixed-age program for these age groups:

Infants - age 12 weeks to 18 months - emphasizes individual care and lots of attention and security to insure your child is happy and secure at the center.

Toddlers - - age 18 month to 3 years - offers opportunities to play, learn, explore and socialize with special activities, books and toys just for the toddler.

Preschool - age 3 years to 6 years - is designed to give children the freedom to explore learning activities and interest centers that have been prepared to challenge and interest a preschooler. Opportunities for social interaction and problem solving abound in this program.

School age – ages 6 through 11 – with learning and development in a safe and healthy environment. Care for this age group during the hours they are out of school allows them to relax, play, pursue a hobby, find a new interest, build new relationships with peers and trusted adults.

The Child Care Center is open to the community at large. Teachers are trained in early childhood and school-age education. The Center is pursuing its re-accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
