Our mission is to offer high quality, student-centered educational and support services that lead to a stronger foundation in academic mastery and successful employment.

What is the Academic Support Center
The Academic Support Center (ASC) is a support service staffed by professional educators, which provides academic skills assistance to the North Country region. We are dedicated to promoting a responsive learning environment to the best of our capacity for all students and North Country residents who need academic assistance.

Who uses the ASC?
White Mountains Community College students have full access to ASC services. The ASC also works closely with area high schools, providing supplemental instruction and alternative credit on PLATOWEB. Services are free to students enrolled in credit courses and to members of the community on a fee-for service basis.

Academic Workshops: The Academic Support Center would be happy to present workshops on an array of topics. Workshop topics offered at the ASC: Stress Reduction, Brain Gym, Communication, Learning Styles, Diversity Awareness, Time Management, Test Taking Strategies and /or Test Anxiety, Memory Techniques, and Tips for College Success.

Tutoring - Mentoring
Academic assistance is available at no cost to any student in a credit bearing course. Please come to the ASC for more information on the following: Mentor Manual (PDF 264 KB) and Tutor Manual (PDF 256 KB)

Students are encouraged during the first week of class to begin accessing any or all of the following resources: Support Services
