| Reference Books (maximum of 3) | Overnight |
| Reserve Titles | Library Use Only (generally) |
NH Revised Statutes Annotated (the laws of the State), NH Court rules, and NH Practice may not be checked out.
Materials may be renewed (by phone or e-mail) unless there are holds on them.
Overdue Materials
Borrowers who have not returned their materials by the due date will receive a notice from the Library. There is no fine for overdue materials. If a borrower loses library materials, there will be a replacement fee.
Suspension of Library Privileges
Students who fail to respond to overdue notices within the allotted time or fail to pay for replacement of lost materials will find their library privileges suspended. A Banner Hold will be placed on the student's account, until such time as the items are returned or payment is made for lost items.
Course Reserves
Some of the books and videos which are required reading for White Mountains Community College students are placed on reserve by our faculty. Reserves generally do not circulate and must be signed out for use in the library.
Books, articles, and other materials that we don't own may be requested through the Fortier Library's Interlibrary Loan service.
To request a book, DVD, or other material that would be returned:
If at the Berlin campus: see a member of the library staff.
If at one of the Conway, Littleton, Woodsville Academic Centers or any other location:
- see a member of the Academic Center staff if applicable OR
- use the library's College Directory form, available on the College Directory page, giving as much information as possible about the item you'd like to request, author, title, date, edition, etc.
The easiest and fastest way is to find an article in EBSCOhost that you would like access to for which there is no full text, click on "click here to request through interlibrary loan" and fill in the requested information on the page that comes up, making sure to include how you would like the article delivered (e-mail, fax, etc.) unless you plan to pick it up at the WMCC library in Berlin.
We will do our best to get you the information you need as quickly as possible, but it can take up to a couple of weeks so please plan accordingly! We will contact you when your requested material has arrived.
Library Instruction
Librarians are available to teach library skills on a one-to-one basis, or to classes, by appointment. An instruction session ensures that you know what electronic databases the library has to offer, as well as how to use them most efficiently for your research.
Study Areas and Conference Rooms
The Fortier Library has three separate rooms set aside for private tutoring, group study, or conferences. These rooms are equipped with a computer and Internet connections, and are available to student and staff on a sign-up basis.
Wireless Access to Internet
Those with a laptop and a wireless card (802.11b or 80211g compliant) may access the Internet and print while in the Library.
Student Information System Tips
The Student Information System allows student to access information about courses, grades, and financial aid.If you should need assistance, a Librarian will be happy to help, either in person or by phone.
